Scott Bernstein is a Principal at Lewis & Clark Ventures and is responsible for managing all stages of the investment process from fund raising and transactions through portfolio company strategy and exit. 


Scott has a passion for innovation and his professional experience includes a blend of portfolio management, product development and business strategy.  Scott has held roles such as Program Manager for Citadel Solutions, an affiliate of Chicago-based hedge fund Citadel Investment Group; Portfolio Analyst for MainStreet Advisors, a boutique investment advisory business; and Director of Marketplace Strategy for Coolfire Solutions, a full service creative development studio.


Most recently, Scott served as Director of Operations for Capital Innovators, a seed-stage investment fund and startup accelerator program, where he oversaw deal flow, investments, and the accelerator program for a portfolio of more than 40 companies.  Capital Innovators was ranked as the 6th best accelerator in the country (Tech Crunch) during his tenure.


Scott holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.


Scott serves on the Arch Grants Competition Committee, President of the University of Chicago Booth Alumni Club of St. Louis, Fellow of the New Leaders Council, Member of the Young Friends Leadership Council of the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and is a recipient of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award for 2015. Scott resides in the south city St. Louis neighborhood of Tower Grove South with his wife, Emily, and son, Samuel.
